Question 05 Excursion Seat Wiring Question

I bought a set of power heated seats from an 05 Excursion and I'd like to put them in a 1999 F-350. The 350 has the power drivers seat but not heated. There are a lot of wires coming off the 05 seats, mostly for the memory functions which I don't really need. Is there a simple way to hook these seats up so that I can make the power buttons and heat button work just from the three wires coming out of the floor on my 99. The harness for the 05 drivers seat has 4 large conductors, Green, Black, Red/Black and White/Red but there are 8 other smaller wires in that plug alone and there is a second plug with 10 more smaller wires. The passenger seat from the 05 only has three large conductors, White/Red, Black and Black/White. I have the 2005 Excursion Wiring Diagrams Manual from Ford but it's a little confising and I don't want to burn anything up. These seats weren't cheap. From what I can tell the first plug on the privers seat is C327 in the wiring manual but there is no legend for that plug in the book. The second plug on the drivers seat is C341c and there is a legend for it but I don't believe that plug will be necessary. The plug on the passanger seat appears to be C340, no legend for that one either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Much Chris Yerger

I did comfirm today that there are three wires coming out of the drivers side floor plug on the 1999 F-350.... Large Black, Large Green and small Black if that is any help. Did not have time to meter them though. Would imagine Green is hot, Black is ground and the small one would have to be something to do with the seat belt or ignition sense. Still waiting to get my 1999 Wiring Diagram Manual.

I am looking at a 2003 diagram and it says you need a "heated seat module" to go along with the heated seats. This I believe will have the relays that control the heat power supply.

Red/black does look like the heat power, because in 2003 it comes from a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box.

Well, I gave this a try and the passanger seat was easy. A common ground and one hot lead for the heat and one for the power motors. The drivers seat is another matter. I tried the same colors and the heat works but the motors do not. There are a lot of extra wires that seem to be for the memory positions for the seats which I do not need. I have no problem hooking up extra relays for these things but I don't have an 05 Excursion to meter the plugs from the floor. If anyone has an Excursion and the gumption to meter the floor plugs on the drivers side I sure would appreciate it. What I need to know is in off and run position which wires have power and which are grounds.

Is there a tech support number I can call at Ford to get these questions answered? Has anyone ever called them to see if they will help with something like this?

I think I'm close but that doesn't really help. At least the seat is currently in a fairly good position for me to at least use the truck without having to adjust it.

Thanks
Chris
