For the 51 grain truck I was lookin for twin 3 inch stacks (exhaust). They are 160 a piece at Fort garry. On Ebay they have a set of 5 inch chrome for 160. Should I go with the 5 inch, or are they too much pipe for the 3 ton. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Truck-parts-Chrom...QQcmdZViewItem
Do they have a 4" set? I like the look, but maybe the 5"
is just a bit much?????What can I say, as soon as I get the extra $$$, I'll be getting 5" stacks on my PSD. There's a place in Winnipeg called House of Chrome that's got 'em in stock. I think they're alittle more $, but no hassle either.
I wouldn't buy something like that on ebay. By the time you pay the shipping, then duty at the border and the border crossing fee that some of the shipping companies charge you would be no further ahead.
Even if all that does work out it`s impossible to tell how good the quality and workmanship is. These stacks could be Wally World rejects. You would`t want to think about paying the shipping back IF there was any warranty.
if you were going to get stacks, id say no more than 3 indh, i think four inch will still look a bit to big, and imo 5 inch on this truck, with its smaller, rounder cab, will look cartoonish. the three inch, tucked kinda in the back of the cab, will look nice and clean, while, at the same time saying "hey this aint grampa's grain truck no more", thats just my opinion though. remember, it is your truck
I agree that ebay isnt the best way to go... i once bought a bicycle frame on ebay, and the extra money i had to pay for over border and shipping made the price double... and i always find some hidden little thing wrong with stuff i get on ebay, its like they sell the seconds of the seconds on there, because you cant inspect them in person... thats been my experience...
If you want my honest opinion, buy them locally, keep your reciept and be glad your money is staying in your own community LOL
Or better yet, buy some pipe, take it to a muffler shop, pay them $20 to bend it how you want it, cut the end off on an angle...wahlah stacks LOL...atleast they will be bent right for your truck... i use coat hanger and bend it where it needs to bend and bring that to the shop for them to go off of... saves alot of money and always has turned out pretty professional looking to me...
Rick
PS: I have bought off of ebay a couple dozen times, but havent used it in the past year, too much hit and miss type stuff, and the sellers always pretend they didnt know.It go to the point that i felt that if I was going to buy from ebay then its my own fault and why complain anymore... so i just dont use it anymore
