i cant for life of me get the little bugger off. i've tried a paper clip but i'm pretty sure its too weak to do the job. i don't want to have to buy a pick just for this little job. does any one have a trick or something else that works just as well. Post X-mas is not the best time to go anywhere and the Sears near me just closed. Bummer.
Any Help is appreciated
Guy
There is a button on the bottom of the light switch on many Fords...press that, and the **** and shaft come off as a single unit. There is a nut behind the **** and shaft, remove that and the switch may be removed.
Small metal tab on the back side of the ****. Needs to be pulled in toward the **** while pulling on the ****., **** will slide right off while keeping it pulled in. I use a small 45 degree pick on mine [sometimes an ice pick with a goobered -up point].
If you do what ccecilm2 said - you will also see a small notch in the ****. I usually stuck a small srewdriver in there and pull towards you. **** slides off the shaft.
You mean the 80's trucks headlight **** is like the 70's truck Wiper switch ****?
Normally the wiper **** comes off like the pic above and the headlight switch SHAFT w/**** slides out of the switch after depressing the button with the switch in "Headlight On" position
