I see a lot of you guys talking about getting a BMT installed and having problems with the 3-1/2" exhaust. What exactly is a BMT and why are so many of you installing it? Just curious
You mean a BTM? Big Truck Muffler. The stock exhaust is 3.5 inch and the BTM has 4.0 inch inlet and outlet. So adapters are needed to fit the muffler properly. Its just a larger free-flowing muffler.
it is just a less restrictive muffler for lower egts. personally i would just cut out the stock muffler and put in a piece of 3 1/2 inch pipe and not worry about adapters and it will sound much better straight piped
Sorry Chris but i thought that the BTM had a 3.5" inlet and outlet, which made it so economical and easy to put on a truck with a stock exhaust system?
You know Kris, I think your right! I think it is 3.5! My bad dmueller71! The offset of the stock muffler is what made the BTM so difficult to DIY. Thanks for the correction.
