well the frame is off to be sand blasted tomorrow and i took the spring,s off to the spring shop today.i was going to have every other leaf left out to lower the truck some.the man at the spring shop said that somebody had added some leaf's to the spring set.when he take's them out and put's them back the way they are suppose to be it will be lower. when i get it all back it will be time to start putting it all back together.
Once the springs have been rebuilt, you can always remove leaves yourself should you desire more drop. Just be sure to put a large heavy C clamp on each side of the centerbolt before removing the nut, then release the clamps slowly. You may want to add a tapered shim between the axle and spring to tip the top of the axle back to increase caster when you reinstall the springs. It will make the truck handle better on the highway.
thank's ax,the shim you talked about were put in already when i took the front spring's out.it had the thick side towards the front to kick the top back.the frame is back from sand blasting and i get the spring's back on tue's or wend's day.i ordered my shackle kit's saturday.i need to wipe the frame down to clean off any dust or left over oil, prime, scuff then paint.i tryed to load new picture's in my gallery.at first it let me edit.after that i tryed and all it would do is freeze up.happy new year to you and all.thank's for all your great input you give on here. tracy
