engine swap questions

i have a few questions on how to swap an engine. what needs to be changed so an engine can go in. do motor mounts need changing. if u know ne thing else that might need to be changed tell me so i know what im getting into all the help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Need a lot more info, what motor/tranny was in the truck? What motor are you putting in now? What year is the truck?

currently i have a 302 with a c6 automatic trans. if im lucky ill be putting a 429 into it sometime.

Are you planning on another tranny, as the C6 you have wont fit a 429. If you use some motor mounts for a 460, the 429 should fit, and then you would need a tranny to match it.

well the 429 has a c6 transmission with it. also i was planning on maybe a new manual transmission. where could i get/or find a good manual transmission.

If you had the 460 mounts the 429/C6 setup would swap right in. You would have to hit the salvage yard or pay a handsome price from a tranny shop for a new gearbox, that or find someone locally who is selling.
