just installed my fabtech 6in lift and im lovin every second of driving.... the only draw back i have is the loss of power and loss of gas.. im for sure going to get the edge plus the airaid tbs and am looking for a good cost effective intake.. on a budget since the lift and tires ran me broke.. so any suggestions on the summit cai or should I just save up a little more and get maybe the volant or airaid intake? heres the summit link to there intake.. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
That looks similar to the airaid jr. They are about the same price too. I never heard of that brand of filter used in the summit kit. I would check them both out before deciding if I was you.
Then, I would personally save the money (since your stock unit is a CAI), and put those savings towards an eventual gear swap, which will not only bring the power right back, but also the mileage. With fuel costs these days, a comparison between your setup now, and the new gears........... the eventual gear upgrade will pay itself off much faster than any CAI upgrade.
I agree 100% on the gears, that is the single mod that will really help with the extra rotating mass. Even on stock trucks, a gear swap is the best way to boost your power to the ground.
As far as a tuner goes, you may want to look into one of our custom BamaChips tuners. Since your truck is modded, we can make a tune suited specifically to your truck, instead of a tune made for any truck. We can make some adjustments that the EDGE cant that will really help in your situation.
