Proper procedure for refilling torque converter...
now how exactly do i fill her back up?
how do i get the fluid back into the torque converter?
do i simply fill the transmission (through the dip-stick tube) and then start her up - will that suck the fluid into the torque converter - and then just fill through the dipstick some more?
i just want to make sure i don't mess anything up before i continue.
thanks,
alex
"Yes,it will.Just pour 7-8 quarts in and fire it up,then immediately add 2-3 more quarts before you start checking it.The pump will fill the converter as the engine is running. It's best if you sit in the truck and row it through the entire gear selectro range a few times to work out any air in the system before checking it.After you get the fluid level close, take it for a road test to warm it up to normal temps and work out any excessive air before the final top-off.
