I Have A 95 Ford F-250 7.3 Deisel
It Keeps Setting A Hard Code For Cam Sensor I Believe It Is P0340.
When The Truck Gets Warm It Will Not Crank when u turn the ign off
u can spray ether it will crank and run fine until u shut it down
i have replaced the cam sens. and checked idm module and ecm i know they are good.
If anyone has ran into this any info would be much appreciated im about to pull my hair out
0340 CMP Camshaft position sensor ckt No CMP sensor signal detected during crank Open/grounded circuit, sensor fault, short to power
doesnt make sense to me. either bad wiring from cps if the cps is new or the code is just stored from when you replaced the cps when it gave you troubles the first time.
cranks perfect cold, it does not quit going up the road or anything, as soon as it gets warm enough for the thermostat to open and u cut the engine off it not going to crank until it cools completely down.
*someone told me that the camshaft could bad, the camshaft gets rollout where the cam sensor will not pick up a signal
Almost 100% certian its the little orings on the end of the IPR. When bad they will hold enough pressure when cold because of the thick oil. When warm...the oil is too thin to build pressure.
Here is a link about the IPR http://cw-diesel.com/LuxSite/IPRInfo.htm
Hey next time she won't start unplug the ICP it is a switch mounted right behind your A/C pump on the oil rail at a 45 degree angle See if then if it will start, once started you can plug it back in.
