97 Explorer 5.0 Exhaust question
hey all. i have to go in and have my tailpipe cut and a new piece put on. it was kinked when i went off-roading and it cant be bent back. its maybe 1.5 feet back from the end of the tailpipe. my question is, since its going to cost about $80 (i got a quote from midas) what would it cost to just get a new cat-back system (or muffler back system) for my truck? i havent really found a lot of choices for the 5.0 but i know it couldnt be much more expensive (maybe $150 or $200). any suggestions before i take it in? thanks and happy holidays
p.s. sound is not really an issue and i checked out the explorer express website and the mac exhaust looks tempting and i might even get that jet chip too

I believe Gibson makes a catback kit also. I would check it out along with the Mac. Also, I woud check with local shops and see what they would charge to change to a Flowmaster 50 Series Delta plus pipe. For what a catback kit will cost, you can usually find an independent shop that will remove 2 of the 4 cats and do all the pipe plus a Flow 50 Series all the way back.
I would also try to steer you away from the jet chip. I have had every chip brand out there, and I would rather go stock than use a jet chip again. I would look at the SCT XCal2 tuner.
