ford charging problem

ford charging problem
96 f250 does not charge when first start running. takes about 45 minutes before starts to charge. checked alternator-ok. could this be the ecm? if so where is it located? or what else to look for?

Could it be charging but your guage is not working at first? Have you actually checked voltage at battery? 45 min. seems like a long time for it to run without any charging at all, I would think your bat. would go dead before that.

what voltage do you have when the truck first starts? does it slowly increase?You say it takes 45 min to start charging, at the 45 minute mark does the voltage all of sudden jump from 12.6 to 14.6. more info please?
