One question, when drilling large holes like 1-1/4" in concrete is it best to start with say 3/8", then 3/4" then finish with a 1-1/4" or just go with 1-1/4" from the start?
If I were doing a hole that big and didn't have a Hilti, I'd rent one and start with 1-1/4". I've seen lesser hammer drills try to oval the hole which can be a problem if you are planning to use Red Heads.
hammer drill is nice but not neccessary. i install removable speed bumps for apt complexes and shopping centers. i use a 1" sds rotary drill all day long. i have drilled hole 2-3" and as deep as 1' with ease.
as for water never use it when drilling concrete will make for trouble later on. anchors will depend what u intend . if traffic(cars bus etc ) lead anchors. most others plastic will work including hang severely heavy items.
Those work poorly compared to a mason wheel in a 4.5" grinder.
I agree with the hammer drill. I did not see where it was mentioned you are using lags or not? If you just need to make rough sized holes, an electric jack hammer works great.
