Wierd smell !

Has any one ever smelled what I would describe as
dry cleaning" fluid smell ??
I was driving down the fence line and it smelled like someone was using dry cleaner fluid ....
What could it be ?? There's nothing around me to be causing it..

When you say "fence line" I am assuming you are the only vehicle around.
Perhaps the wind was picking up some of that new-fangled ULSD exhaust and blowing it forward?
That's mostly a joke, not even Biodiesel smells like that.
Got a leaky can of brake cleaner spray behind the seat?

There was a post several months ago where they were leaking synth Rotella and it was dripping on the manifold, made the whole family sick.

I just noticed your ELC, check water pump weep hole. I know Red has an undescribable smell when it gets on hot parts.

That was my family. Def. crawl under the truck and look at your up-pipes/manifold for wet spots of oil. I dont know what dry cleaning fluid smells like so i cant help you there. I experienced like a cucumber/burnt electrical smell from the synthetic dripping onto my hot manifold. I had never smelled synthetic oil smoke/ burn before i encountered my leak. I was looking in all the wrong places for three weeks. Wouldnt let the family back in "old black" till i fixed it. My main question for you is: Does it come out of nowhere and make you drowsy when it hits you? If so look for wet spots on the manifolds, up-pipes.

Ditto machines. They could crank out copies of whatever 4x as fast as the fastest laser printer today.
I still remember the smell too.
Are you near a factory that might have spilled something and you just happened to be downwind?

Smell your air vents. Could be a leak in the a/c and is coming out of the vents. Maybe mildew or something.
