Header removal 390 FE
When i had my heads re done i had "Sanderson Shorty" headers installed..
Fe 390 72-F250 2w/d Can the drivers side be removed without pulling the head? OR steering box ETC>>>. Looks impossible I would like to have them coated!

You may get it out by jacking the motor up on the drivers side.
Remove the nut inside the spring perch, jack up on the drivers side pan rail to rotate the motor up. Grunt and cuss a little it will come out.
Caution, check your fan to shroud clearance, gas line, throttle and tranny linkage.
I recall with Thorley's the steering box had to be unbolted from the frame and lowered for added clearance, this was a Bendix box.
If your coating new headers have them coated inside and out for added protection and heat reflection.
I learned the hard way with Jet Hot 3 times until they were stripped and coated properly by HPC.

Kinda had a feeling it may be something like that.. Well it will have to waite till the spring... no garage anymore just a carport... BUT they are in the `lets do it now` mode to keep thing from rotting away....
