New Guy here...

Hi all,

I'm definatly not a newbie to forums or Ford trucks, but I am to this site.

I've been raised in Ford trucks all my life. I've owned a lot of them over the years -- all the way from a 56 with a Mustang 289 drivetrain swapped in to a 58 w/390, 62 F600, 65 F100 shortbed, 66 F100 longbed, a number of 70s models (20+) including my 76 F150 w/550 hp 390 on 38s, and finally my 86 Ranger and my 92 Explorer.

I came here specifically becasue my youngest son is looking to buy an 88 Superduty, and I'll be needing some info on that if he gets it.

Our family is heavily into the off-road truck scene, and both of my sons work in/own off-road shops in the Louisville area. I'm one of the co-founders of the United Christian Off-Road Alliance -- an alliance of other clubs, groups, forums, and individuals interested in off-road vehicles and family-friendly fellowship. You can find us at www.ucora.org.

My current project truck is an 86 Ford Ranger - definately not a diesel Super-Duty -- but a super truck none-the-less.

I'm setting it up for hard-core off-road use, and I'm running Dana axles (44 front, 60 rear - 8-lug stuff) with 5.13 gears, hand-built suspension and links for 20+ inches of travel, an Explorer 4.0 V6 backed by a C4/5 with a doubler T-case, all on 15.5 x 38 x 15 tires. It will have a tube exo-cage, radiator, coolers, spare tire, and battery all mounted behind the cab, and not too much sheetmetal left... It will definately

I also wheel my 92 'Sploder from time to time...

Hello and Welcome to FTE!

Wow! You will find a lot to like here with the off-road, 4X4, SuperDuty, and Ranger forums. There are others you will like so look them over and feel free to jump in with your experience. Be sure and checkout the chapter forums where you can find what is happening in your state.

Enjoy the site!

No, you won't. To be sure you are on the safe side, be sure and read the forum guidelines. A link is attached to my signature. You can also upload all the pictures you want to your gallery, but you don't want to be attaching large pictures to you post since not everybody has cable or DSL.

Nobody is preventing you from posting a picture. It just needs to be uploaded to your gallery. Some people have their computer settings too high (as in firewalls), so be sure you upload first.

Thanks...

I'm on multiple other forums, and I'm one of the Co-Founders of UCORA.org, the United Christian Off-Road Alliance, so I'm fairly well versed in forum use.

I just wondered why my picture links were getting stripped out. Most forums allow pictures within a post as long as they are hosted somewhere and fit a certain size requirement.

I'll check out the gallery.
