Sorry,another breakin question

There has been talk recently about breaking in a new 6.0 buy going into a parking lot and putting the truck in low gear and running it up to about 2-3000 rpm and letting the motor slow the truck back down. I've done it one time so far with 300 miles on the truck for about 10mins.

Now my question is,Are you only supposed to do this one time? Or should you do it 1 or 2 times a day for a couple of days?

When I got mine I just varied my speeds every few min or so and I didnt pull any trailers untill 5000 miles. I have never heard of that exact method of break in but it dosent sound healthy.

Sounds like voodoo to me. Just do what Ford tells you in your guides and read this forum.

No worries man. There seems to be a lot "folklore" on this subject. You already know where to separate out the BS from the truth - right here.

I would suggest reading the tech folder and following the artical on engine breakin.
The way I broke my truck in was a lot of varied rpm driving for the first couple hundred miles then I drove it for a couple 15 hour trips going from highway speed rpm to about 3800 rpm in high gear[without speed limiter] and let it cool back down again, the better your rings seal to your cylinder wall the better your compression and overall fuel consumption will be .
