Question Throttle Positioning Solenoid...

Put 600 Holley on my 84 351. Does anyone know of a source for a new solenoid. Mine has 1 wire hookup. Dealer and parts houses...No help...Thanks..J

the solenoid is for your ac. when you cut on your ac it pops out to increase your idel. you don't need it just increase your idel a little.

That's kind of what I figured. What about the carbon canisters.? One of mine is disconnected..and the other has a plug in one line. Do I need them ?...Thanks for the help...Jv

The carbon canister is part of the fuel return line, it helps the fuel tank keep the fuel from becoming airlock in the tank, helps to min the splash back when you're trying to fill the fuel tank up (although with fuel prices as high now..its a wonder to just get good gas mileage nowaday) and its also connects to the emissions. So yes I think you need it, but some people will argue that you don't, I disagree.

you don't need it, it just vents the fumes from the gas tank into the carb to be burned off
