Have a problem with fader control. everything has worked fine for last six months until today. Fader is set to run front speakers with a little rear fill. Now all speakers play with it still set for the front speakers. When I turn the fader for the rear speakers all speakers quit working. I have all speakers running from a jl-300/4. Hope this is just a wire come loose or grounding out and not the amp. Headunit was bought and installed at best buy. Is there any way I can check myself to see if it is the Headunit , Amp, Wiring ??? Can you guys offer any suggestions. THANKS

I install audio equipment...sometimes the controls can become loose..I would take it back to best buy and have them look at it, you might need a new head unit...my pioneer did the samthing about 2 years ago i had to ge a new head unit.
Did they use both front and rear inputs? They may have only used the front inputs and selected the '2ch. input' mode. They would have done this if you have a factory headunit and/or an aftermarket radio with only 1 output. Look and the input side of the amp on the far right labeled 'Front input section' and you will see a switch labeled 'input mode' (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_a...php?amp_id=254) - if its currently in 4ch try switching it to 2ch and see if that works - if not take it back to best buy and they should check it for free.
thanks to both for the response- cln2po the input had been switched to (two channel) evidently by my youngest daughter with her foot hitting this switch! Switched it back to 4channel and all works well as before. Isnt it funny how we get all bent out of shape when our systems dont perform as expected! thanks again.
