I have Perelli Scorpians stock on my truck and i have the same problems. I cant do much about it this year but come next fall i will have some solid A/T's on my Sexy PSD. As for going anywhere, here in Washington state we've been getting hit will alot of bad weather as well... nothing like the amount of snow that CO. is getting but still bad for us. Needless to say all i have to do is throw it in 4 HI/low and i can get anywhere i want. Its back fired on me a few times though. We've had a few people with little car's that havnt been able to make it to work becuase of the weather... as for me everybody knows my truck can go anywhere so they wont let me use that excuse... oh well i have a great truck thats what counts the most right

armymark, great idea. I think those tires are outright dangerous. Get good tires and you will be amazed at the traction you get. With my tires, have about 10k on them now, and the weight of the truck with 4x4 on, I go through up to 3ft of snow with no probs. You want to talk about fun doing doughnuts in a parking lot with 2-3 ft covering the entire thing? I thought my boy was going to pee his pants he was laughing so hard!

Stopping is also great. I had to stop hard when an Xmas-shopping crazed woman cut me off today. Hardest I ever slammed on the brakes and the road was wet with snow runoff and icy patches. No skidding, no crash or bang. Almost like it was on rails.

I've had the wobble with stock 18" wheels too. Scrape off a big hunk of snow and it gone.

I found some 275/70/18E's Mud Terrain Radial SXT with studds. They are fantastic so far. I may put them on for summer with no studs. 33inches in diameter. A hard tire to find with 18 inch wheels.

Ya, I miss the snow too. Up here in the north east this el ninyo year is killing any chance of snow. The ski resorts cant even make snow its been so warm. But I guess if its not going to snow it might as well be 50. Have fun in the white stuff.

Nice day on the beach wrecked by a tornado? Sounds like you are getting extreme weather down there also. Hope all is well for you.

Yeah, that was a good storm. I got 36 inches at my house, and a 4 foot drift behind the truck, I put it 4wd and drove right through it, and the only trucks that I saw on my streets were, the one and only, Super Duty (biggest, badest, trucks on the road). I was surprised that my truck did as well as it did with those Conti's, must be the weight if the truck. I can't wait to get the BFG A/T's this summer, that should make the truck unstopable.

Yeah, the 20" rims like sucking in & holding onto snow. I was fine as long as I was in my condo complex pulling people out, but as soon as I headed out onto Tower/Alameda, I had to stop & clear the snow out of the rims to avoid the wobbles. And, despite the more street-like tread on the stock Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires, I have to say, they do an absolutely phenomonal job in the snow & ice.

I headed outside on Thursday to confirm that there were cars stuck all over my condo complex. And, as I park in the very back corner of the complex, there were quite a few cars between the Super Duty & freedom.

On Friday, I headed back out & gave a couple people a hand in digging out. After a couple hours, I came up with a plan to head out into a field that is beside my complex in order to bypass a bad section where half a dozen cars were cluttered together blocking the road.

With minimal effort, the Super Duty blazed a path the length of your average city block through snow that was between knee & thigh deep (and I'm 6' 1" with a 34" inseam). In one particularly bad section, I made the poor decision to let off the throttle and promptly got stuck. I knew that was a definite possibility before I'd headed out through the field, but it wasn't until I hopped out that I realized just how deep the snow was in that section. The bottom edge of the door pushed some snow out of its way as I opened it up, and in walking around to the passenger side, the snow was a full 3" or better above that lower body seam...maybe 10" up the door.

It took better than an hour of shoveling to clear things out enough that I figured I had a chance to get the truck moving again. After hopping in & throwing it into reverse, I was just amazed that it pulled out after just a few seconds of cranking the steering wheel back & forth and some of the usual wheel hop. I spent about 20 minutes trying to get through that section, but let's face it, there is only so much you can do with stock running gear.

In the end, a neighbor with a Cummins-powered Ram 2500 (4" lift & 35" tires) ended up giving me that extra bit of pull to get me back out onto the roadway. After unhooking the chain & tow straps, we got to talking a bit (mainly trying to catch our breath), and he admitted that he wouldn't even have tried to go through the area I did. We ended up walking out along my wheel tracks, and I showed him where I'd originally gotten stuck. We both agreed that it was downright impressive how far I had gotten.

I spent a good portion of the day pulling folks out after that...with a big Super Duty grin on my face the entire time!! I absolutely loved my Harley F-250 before. Now I have a newfound respect for it.
