knock sensor and 02 sensor
Just wanted to know when is the right time to change these to sensors. I'm the second owner and don't think that they were. The truck has 163,000 miles everything is stock nothing has been changed except the A/C compressor. Its a 302. Thank You.
Oxygen sensors are part of the tune up stuff though...if you care about peak performance than you can spend $50 for an oxygen sensor and it may give a little more accurate information to the computer for a slightly more efficient fuel/air mixture but if it's running fine than I'd leave it alone.
Knock sensor isn't really a wear item or a major concern, it's inplace to detect detonation and tell the computer to retard timing if necessary...most of the trucks don't even have this sensor.
