Merry Christmas
So the nature of this post is not to focus on what I want, or what I need, (or what I think I need) but to be thankful for what I have. I do have two trucks (unfinished as they are) I am thankful for them and what some day they will or can be. I am thankful for my new friends here at FTE and all of the knowledge, information and laughs that I have had in reading the post. I am thankful for my family, as my daughters have made if safely home from college, to spend the holidays with us. I am grateful for the health of my family and the communication that we have with one another. I am really thankful for my relationship with God. Jesus Christ really is the reason for this season. I really needed to say that here, in this forum.
Hopefully each and every one of us has something to be thankful for and I was just wondering what you are thankful for? Yes it is a question, and your response would be appreciated.
So, MERRY CHRISTMAS to each and every one reading this, and my the joy and peace of Christmas be with you and each one of your family members.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
If we look we ALL truly have things for which to be grateful. I'm especially grateful for a 5 year old grandson who returned from St. Jude for his one year cancer checkup... totally free from any sign of cancer. I'm grateful for the wisdom and dedication of all the doctors, nurses, technicians, scientists, fund raisers, volunteers and supporters of this institution. They saved my grandson's life. He's getting stronger and better every day.
I'm grateful that I have enough sense to see how I've been blessed and recognize the opportunities God gives me to pay it forward. I'm grateful for a group of old friends and new friends we've made thru this and even the strangers who supported my family thru a rough year of treatments. Financial, emotional and spiritual support that held us up constantly. I'm grateful to a parent of another child at St. Jude, a beautiful strong and wise young mother who was struggling just as my daughter and s-i-l were. She taught this granddaddy (who thinks he should be able to fix EVERYTHING) a very valuable lesson... even though she was having a particularly bad day, she smiled as she told me. "Sometimes the best you can do... is just the best you can do". I've applied that thinking to many areas of my life with much success and much less stress.
I'm grateful that I have a God that I can talk to and who intervenes in my family's life in so many ways. And, grateful that all my family will be with me thru the holidays.
And I'm especially grateful to MY55 for reminding me to think about all the things for which I should be grateful.
Have a great Christmas with your girls MY55 and a safe happy new year.

I am thankful that my family is relatively healthy (and mostly normal) Life is good! On the days that I get a bit grumpy all I have to do is look around at all the wonderful things in my life, my wife and kids, immediate and exteneded family, food in my belly and a roof over my head, and a strong network of friends, including all of you fellow FTE'ers.
This forum and its members are wonderful. This has got to be the friendliest most knowledgeable, and supportive site I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of.
I thank you all! Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!
Now it time to go back to beating on this old piece of steel that I've been told is a truck
- both my young lads are getting their stuff together and making me proud
- the bride still puts up with me
- I’ve got an interesting job that pays decently in a healthy company
- I’m able to work on my truck (Not like before but still enough to enjoy it and make modest progress)
The best to my friends – ‘fenders, George, fatfenders, Bobby, Randy, Axracer, Penn Dick, the Dutchman ( a few I’ve no doubt forgotten) and everyone else on this website.
I'm very thankful for all my friends here. Merry Christmas to all of you.
