Is this block compatable with the heads and intake from a fuel injected 351w. I want to rebuild a 351w to put in place of my 302. I have a donor truck (89 f250) with a 351 but don't want to pul the engine if I can get a block for $50. Will all my accessories and such bolt to a block that old? is everything the same like the crank, cam journals, connecting rods, f;ywheel? Please help. Thanks for your time. Jake
I think you will need the 351 accesory brackets from the donor truck. I am not positive on the 302 brackets on the 351. I think you will also need the timing chain cover as well for the serpentine belt system uses a different water pump.
You can use the 302 accessories. The 351 blocks are all pretty much the same, it'll work fine. Just make note of if it's a single rear main seal or not when you're getting gaskets (not sure if the oil pan matters either, check).
You can use the 302's timing cover and water pump.
Your 302 heads can be drilled to 1/2" holes and used on the 351, they are still stock EFI heads, E7TE's.
Just make sure you arn't buying a 351 block that has been bored, the stock bore should be measured to 4" plus or minus a hair. If they're more than 4" then it's been bored.
351s usually arn't great over 4.030 in that the clearance to the water passages can become too thin and it can create overheating problems. Usually you've got to sonic check it to make sure it's ok.
For most builds, people will bore a stock 351 30 over to a 4.030 bore or a 4.040 bore and call it a day.
