First off, a little more info before we can make suggestions.
Is it a manual or automatic transmission?
Is the fluid engine oil or transmission fluid?
If engine oil, it could be the rear main seal. If transmission fluid it could be the front seal to the transmission. And depending on what transmission just how hard that could be.
Here's what I think. Probably the front seal on the transmission. Heavy but do-able.
Now it could be fairly simple, but I have seen this same thing when the torque converter was bad.
I think if I was doing this, I'd pull the converter and have it checked. Also I'd look very close at the seal. If it's damaged, then you probably have found your problem.
