AX, when you removed the inner fenders, did you go from the top or from under the truck? Did you remove your hood?

Did it from the top, IIRC most of the nuts are captured i.e. attached to the inner fender panel. There may have been some that I had my wife hold for me from under the fender of the truck. It was quite uneventful took less than 15 min, so I don't remember the details. The driver's side I took off as soon as I got her home to make it easier to change out the steering. I took off the pass side when I removed the wind deflectors to work on them.
No need to take the hood off unless you want to. Shoot the bolts from underneath with some good penetrating oil a day or two in advance.

Thanks AX, as for the bolts, I've already replaced them all with Stainless button heads so they won't be a problem.

Ed, as far as making your own inners, have you checked with Mid-Fifties Ford? They have them in SS or mild steel. That might be the way to go unless you're just busting for a chance to make your own. I used the SS model and trust me, there is no way I would try making the units myself. Jag
