Question Question for carb size & others, which do you think

Since im puttin a crank in my 460 to make it a 513, I've been lookin at tunnel ram intake/ carb kits from summit now would the

dual 450CFM mechanical secondaries be enough?
or
Should i go with the dual 600CFM vaccum secondaries?
I am not drag racing or anything just a fun car, but i dont want vaccum secondaries
The rpm range is 2800 - 9000 rpm for the tunnel ram

As for valves I am guessin i have to go larger than stock?

You probley won't like the tunnel ram for street use. That is more for track use.

I agree with wildebill, just run a single carb 850-950 cfm will be enough for most anything your going to do. I run a single 1190 dominator style carb on a 528 at over 7000rpm and it's enough, I used to run a 1090 on that engine and it was just on the edge of being enough and thats a race only engine with worked over aftermarket race type heads and solid roller cam.

If you insist on dual 4's, go with a dual plane setup for the street.

tunels look cool and all that coming out of a hood but for performance wise run ya something in the 750 to 950 range.i personaly like the weiand steath for bigblocks with a 750 doulble pumper hmm mabe even a nitrous express hitman between the two, dang just give out out my secret!

Ok i looked at summit.... again and I am choosing the Weiand stealth intake like Wizzard351 mentioned, its range is Idle - 6800rpm. Since after boring .030 over it will be at 520 cubes so would I lean more towards the 950cfm holley or 850cfm holley. The 950 doesnt have a choke (which ive never ran b4 on an engine) The 850 has manual choke & both are mechanical secondaries.
I know ones giving you more fuel obviously but would the 850cfm out perform the 950cfm in the setup i plan on using? max rpm im know will be under the 6800 mark for sure, all i kno is this engine will make my nova fly down the road when im on the gas.
