I have a 4" MBRP stainless exhaust on my 1999 F250 Powerstroke 7.3L. The istall instructions allow the muffler to be installed 2 different ways, with the open baffle to the front or to the rear for a quieter sound. I have mine on with the baffle flowing as a muffler if I turn it around I know it will be louder but will I getter better fuel milage along with quicker performance?

I believe your azz backwards on your statement, open louvers forward will be quieter with more resistance to gas flow, open louvers backwards is louder with a little better gas flow.
You have options, install it both ways then decide.
