When it's said and done?
Love my 05 but I've been wondering what you all think will happen to the 6.0 after it is no longer in production? Parts availability? Mod research and development? Overall opinion of the motor? Resale value?

What will happen? it will become the next 7.3 when we start hearing of the first year issues with the new 6.4 .... parts will always be available, resale will remain high on the late 04 to present engines, and my overall opinion? 27,000 miles on an 05 with the Flashpaq from 2000 miles up, and I'm still seeing 16 around town and 19 on the highway .... go get a first year 6.4 but I'm happy - thank you Ford

God bless you vze2372e! I could kiss you, you ain't hairy or nothin' like that are you...well, nevermind. It's an awesome beast of an engine and even if you have problems right now I'd say hold on to it and get the dealer to take care of them, cuz my bet is that the resale will go back up...way up. Right now there's just too many stories from people who bought them as status symbols to carry their laptop back and forth to work and do gardening runs to Home Depot on the weekends. But even the non-issues are being addressed on them and they are simply becoming bullet proof. And as far as mod r&d, just ask some of the guys in the competition forum what they think! They're freakin' crazy and they're gonna have John Force in one soon! IMHO...LOL!

Thanks Spike - I like the 7.3 (proven) but it's gone. The latest 6.0's are rockets and bullet proof (with some exceptions of course) - I don't want a first or second year motor (6.4) SO .... Ill just push 424hp and 740ft-lbs of torque out of my "little" diesel like I have for the past 25,000 miles - some have complaints, but not here :-)
