need help

Hi all. I have an 88 2.9 it died driving down the road and I now have no dash lights and it won't turn over. It acts like there is no battery in it. If I jump the solinoid it turns over but will not start. the head lights wont come on either, nothing works. This is my sons ride and I'm stumped.

I had that happen on my VW rabbit about 6 months ago. Turned out the positive terminal of the battery7 had made contact with the hood, and shorted everything out. That may be the case in your truck, not neccesarily the battery terminal, but it does sound like a short.

I can't find any shorts. Is there another set of fuses besides the ones under the dash?
