Do the filters on the AIS typically last? I see on sale the filter itself is $58. The WIX thing ya'll do ..the "drawback", is noise correct? No water problems? Friend of mine said that would be an issue... Mine is noisy already so....

the 6637 filter is an open element filter and you'll get more turbo and engine noise from it. the only issue of the filter getting wet is when you do the zoodad mod and drive into a texas style rain storm. the AIS is built for sever duty applications where dust and dirt are a big problem. if your PSD is a pavement princess like mine then the 6637 quik filter will work just as good as the AIS and it's a whole lot cheaper too.
The AIS is a closed box type filter that muffles alot of the noise that the quik 6637 has. cant go wrong with either filter, its just a matter of how much money you want to spend.

I guess the 6637 is the way for me then.. I foresee too much $ leaving me with new exhaust and gauges already.....someday soon. Have drop in K&N which I hear is a bozo nono. Guess I will get the new air thing done b4 the new year. Not dusted that I can see last time I looked. To say nothing for the new same end mufflers for side exit on my mustang...and suspension work for wife's car...hopefully daughter's car isn't needy this winter. Hate maintaining a fleet, but it is a necessity moneywise. Thanks for the info. Merry Christmas!
