hood emblem

I need a color picture of the front hood emblem on a 53-56 f100. I have the original and it is in good condition except there is no paint. I know the colors are red and black but I dont know which goes where. Any help would be great.

Wayneivan,
I'm taking this info and description from a color picture in a Bob Drake catalog so I'm not sure how accurate it might be. Should be close.

Their copy reads, ..."the field around the lightening bolt and gear painted red and field behind 'Ford' script painted black."

The picture shows that the center of the gear (the hole) is red. Then a chrome ring. Next, the center ring of the gear body itself is black followed by chrome teeth.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't. By the way, Bob Drake sells these for $48 and they have a website if you're interested. tim
