unique 4X4

Talk about something fun to build and own - the Fresno Creg's list shows a 87 full size bronco with a 4" lift and tires in running condition for $650. It also shows a 61 Falcon ranchero. . . . . I know of one I can get for $200.

Be fun to mount the Ranchero body on the Bronco chassis - give you a unique 2 seat 4X4 that would run with anybody!

Now that would be a project you could be proud of.

My son's 65 F100 4x4, with a 4 speed and good running 360, was taken and towed, thanks to the local police department down in Lancaster where he lives. It was a project that I had invested quite a bit into for him.
He had it stored on the lot where he lived. When he moved to another house, he did the typical kid thing and didn't get the proper paper work from the DMV. That along with his losing his key, which forced him to try and push it out into the street, at night, and hook it up to another truck to be towed with a tow strap. While it was in the street, a cop just happened to drive by and had his truck towed to impound.
He can't afford to bail it out. Between me and my ex-wife, we bailed him out the last two times he did stupid things. Yes, he has done stupid things twice before and I don't plan on bailing him out of this one. He has to learn that there are consequences to stupid behavior. Therefore, this will be his loss, unfortunately.
I've already dumped a couple thousand bucks into this truck and aint doing it again.
Point is, there is a 65 Ford F100 sitting in an impound yard that will probably go up for auction, if it hasn't already. If you want, I can find out the latest on the status of it. If not, I will let sleeping dogs lay. Probably not an easy subject to bring up with him, but I would rather bring up an uncomfortable subject than let that truck go to auction or maybe even the scrap yard.

Sounds like my brother's kids - we all gave up on them. It took 10 years but they did finally grow up. Now both are working and raising a family. Time and tough love worked on them. . .

If we know which town towed the truck we likely can find the impound lot without asking him.

If you want to do something weird, I have this '93 Cougar here, the Cougar will be stripped of what I need for my '36, then will be donated to a charity for parts, or...

Thing is, the body is so straight, it a shame to send it off.

That's what happened to the Camaro I just sold, I bought for a song just for the engine and tranny, but it was in such good shape I couldn't bear to send it off to the crusher, so I sold it to a kid for what I paid...who still hasn't payed me yet...oh well.
