Alignment kit install, need to jack?

my truck is a '98 scab, lifted 7.5" with 35" tires. I just got ahold of an alignment kit with the eccentric washers, my question is: the upper control arms are mounted to the frame with 2 bolts each, if I pull the bolts out and replace them with the cam adjuster bolts 1 at a time, will I need to jack my truck up to relieve any of the weight on the UCA? to my understanding, all of the weight is on the LCA anyways.

You'll have to jack it up enough to get some of the weight off the suspension (usually about halfway) then loosen both bolts and as you said replace 1 at a time.
