High idle, TPS sensor?

I have a 99 f150 with the 4.6 it has a 5 speed. My problem is this: When I come to a stop the engine stays at a high idle like 1500 then normally it will eventually drop down to normal idle rpm. I dont have any codes, should i replace the tps sensor? Any ideas would be helpful, thanks

I would change your idle air control valve. Good luck

It sounds to me like something is sticking. If I were you I would check my vacuums lines, PVC valve if you have one, then I would start to suspect the IAC valve, TPS or your throttle linkage.

Note: Sometimes an easy way to tell if it's a faulty sensor is is to unplug the sensor you think is causeing the problem and see how the vehicle responds. Of course it will set trouble codes that's no big deal just disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and the code will go away.
