48 horn

Ok....just about done with restoring my 48 to stock other then a few minor points...one of them being the correct placement of the horn and wiring. I have a new wiring harness so I just need to get parts for the horn on the wheel. Where does the horn resister go? I think I can find parts for all else through a combination of parts catalogs. But that horn resister shows no where in my diagrams. Thanks jim

On all the 48-52 trucks I've ripped apart, none of the 48-50 used a resister or relay. Only the 51-52 used a relay, which mounted to the right of the starter relay on the firewall. The horn picks up power inside the cab, goes to the horn, out again and up thru column. When you push the horn button, power goes to ground, thereby activating the horn. You might want to put a in-line fuse to be safe.
