i have the stock alarm/door lock key chain. my question is, when i push the button twice it locks the doors with a horn beep but does not lock my drivers door, what gives? and when i push the **** down to lock the door and try to unlock it with the key chain it wont unlock. also when in the truck the lock switch doesnt lock any of the doors. can any one help.thanks
your question is a bit confusing.
Which locks work with the key fob? Which locks work with the door switches? Try all the switches. Lock actuators are common failure items on these trucks. If you get a lock and/unlock anywhere with the key fob I'd say it's probably fine, and start tracking down faulty lock actuators.
edit:
after rereading your post, I'd gues the drivers actuator and switch are bad. Not uncommon as they are used the most.
I second the actuator. Oddly enough my two rear doors in my crew have stopped working. The passenger rear slowly died, giving all it could until it finally stopped. On that list of things to replace.
Same thing happened to my truck. There is a resistor in the actuator that goes bad. below is a thread that allows you to fix the problem with a small piece of aluminum foil. Be advised that there is some contriversy concerning this. If you bypass the resistor, you could overload the actuator and burn it out (if you keep your arm leaning on the lock switch on the door). My opinion is that it's a slim chance and I was looking at replacing the actuator anyway so what the heck!
