1992 Ford Explorer Idles funny. Lets see I got gas on friday and let the rig sit all weekend and then drove it to work this morning ( monday) and it seamed to drive ok. I went to take it out for lunch and when I first started it it died so I restarted and it fired up but then died again. I got it fired up the 3rd time and it ran... i took it out for lunch. I noticed that it was not idleing right. It was looping as I sat at a light and I literally had to mash the brakes to keep the rig from moving forward. This thing was almost jumping in the front. When i drive it drives fine with no issues that I can tell until I stop and its time to idle... After work it seamed to be ok for about 5 mins and then it started up again. I checked the gas cap and also added some fuel system cleaner. I plan to check the air filter also. Any ideas?
turned out to be a vacuum hose that was disconected.. I reattached it and now she runs like a champ.
Was it disconnected from the vacuum tree? If so, check to see if any of them are wet inside, could be tranny fluid, which would indicate a bad modulator valve.
I would say Yes it was connected to the vacuum tree. So Tranny fluid in any of the ports off the tree? I am also having an issue where my brake light and rear antilock brake lights keeping coming on.

Check the hoses themselves, easier to see if you have any tranny fluid getting into the engine. Not sure which vacuum hose is connected to the vacuum modulator. Brake light coming on is usually an indicator that your pads are getting low and should be looked after pronto. Not sure about your rear abs light, but I seem to remember posts about cleaning the rear sensor. Do a search on this forum and you should find something.
