check engine light
ok i got a 91 f 150 and the check engine light comes on and then off. and i lose power a lil bit. anyone kno what this could be? im tinhkin i need to replace the cat and the o2 sensor

The check engine light is trying to tell you something. Before you randomly throw parts at the problem, pull the codes. http://www.broncodata.com/tech/codes.htm

The cat is downstream from the O2 sensor, which is the last thing the computer gets data from. You could cut the cat completely off and the computer won't ever know. The O2 sensor can register a code, but it won't trip the light.
