I have the Airaid Air box with the K&N Filter.. Will that drop the EGT's Any??
Others will probably chime in on the K&N, i would ditch it for a better filtering and equally as breathing approach. Do some research on K&N on this site and you will find out that it only leads to dusted engines. Thats all I'll say about that. AIS -fordpart# 1759 in addition with the fender sleeve or the 6637 kwik mod will get you some good filtration to keep your PSD running hapily for many years. To answer your question K&N will get you your low EGT's but in doing that will alow more than acceptible amounts of dirt into the engine destroying the turbo along its path.
I read on hear once that for marketing purposes the race teams that perform on the dirt on a weakly basis will run the filter in knowing that the will be rebuilding the engine after the race anyway. Totaly not what we are doing.
Another thought, the Airaid air filters are also red and look very similar to the K&N filters so hopefully it's an Airaid filter and not a K&N. Did you buy the Airaid setup new King?
The truck came with a Airaid Filter and Air Box set up. We bought it and found that the filter was cracked. So we went out and bought a K&N. I do know that the filter element is alot better and it allows more dirt to go into the motor. They do have those sleves that go over the filter like a blanket. Will that help any?? Also my fender has a black... what seams to me to be a garbage bag inside the finder. I dont know if thats what you guys ment on a fender sleeve? I spent all that money on the K&N i dont really want to change it.
