Hard cold start

Hard cold start

The temp droped to freezing yesterday and truck would not start had to cycle glow plugs 8 time before she fired.I cant find the post for the good glow plug where they beru???Also i bought a liter of howes deisel additive is it any good havent used it yet.

Get a test light. put the wire on the hot pole of your battery. take the wire off the top of the glow plugs and and touch the tester to the top point. If it grounds, the glow plug is good. If it doesn't the glow plug is bad. Normally they are not all bad, just a few of them.

What did the controler/relay do? Any clicking?

Yes beru glow plugs. If more than a few test bad replace all, as the rest will soon follow.
