I had my 2006 SCrew Lariat 4x4 waxed a month after I adopted it. The detail shop I use has always done a great job, except this time they got wax all over the door handles thus leaving them dulled around the edges. I would love to find a set of chrome door handles to eliminate this issue. Any thoughts?
Take a look at the ones on mine, in my gallery. If you like them, just check out E-Bay and you'll find them. Chrome ones, polished stainless steel ones, and possibly more choices.
You can look at mine also. They came from an ebay seller and are made by Putco. They are actually plastic overlays that use 3M tape. REally easy to install and get lots of complements.
Got mine on ebay from Martins Auto Parts in Ky. ordered them on a Sunday and they were at my door on Tuesday afternoon. I think there web site is WWW.TRUCKEFX.COM. The andles were stainless steel.
Another thing that will take the wax off any of the black exterior plastic parts on your truck is at the Honda motorcycle dealerships. It is a Honda brand cleaner polisher that I used on my motorcycle, it works awesome.
I got the chrome door handles and used the putco covers for the black surround. the putco looks and works great, looks just like if it were factory. i would not buy them on ebay, you'll probably end up paying more. i bought mine off autoanything.com after i checked some sites that have sales on, then asked autoanything.com to match the prices and they did. i ended up getting a set for my supercab including tailgate handle all made by putco for about $70 total shipped to me. On ebay you might find a better deal, but then some jerk wants to charge you $12 to ship them, whereas companies can offer free shipping even. I would buy now during the christmas season while the free shipping deals are still around on these websites.
yeah you can put it on there and have someone just hold it on while you step back and look at it if you're unsure. i have been trying to get some pics up on here but the gallery is screwed up. i think it might be fixed now so i will try to post my pics tonight and you can see mine. i wouldn't put the chrome stuff on my truck if you don't like the chromed out look though, because just 1 or 2 pieces of chrome looks kinda weird if everything else is black....but i wouldn't over do it either.
my bad, i got some older pics up of just the tint, but i thought i had some of the door handles and other mods too. i'll have to get out one afternoon this week after work and take some to post.
