I just ordered a set of dynomax blackjack headers for my 87 f250 with a 351w, I just wanted some feedback on them and if anyone on here has ever run them or seen them. Also would it sound good with a y pipe with no cat and a glass pack? Im thinkin its gonna sound bad.
I've got them on my 78 with the 351m. I'm running them open right now, I like them. There not the best quality available, but for the price they work and they fit good
Thorley stuff is generally good for their fit and material thickness, (3/8 flanges and 14ga. tube). I ran their stuff on my 91 F350 dually, 65 Mustang, and '00 Dakota R/T w/Paxton S/C. No leaks, no drips, no spills. The Tri-Y design is great for a broad torque curve starting just off idle.
The Hooker "Competition" line is pretty good also, (5/16 flanges and 16ga. tube). Ran those on my 72 CJ Ranchero and "Super Comps" on my '93 Mustang.
2-into-1 with no cat may be a bit loud if that is an issue. If so, running a "long case" muffler will help. Don't run anything smaller than 3" dia. with a 2-into 1 exhaust system on the inlet side. The Hooker "AeroChamber" muffler sounds great on trucks. Single inlet/dual 2 1/4 outlet.
