Hard shifting from passing back to 4th
I recently bot a 2001 F350 7.3 PSD with 4wd 163K.
Yesterday I added a K&N FIPK intake filter.
When I tested it on the highway it started shifting hard from passing back to 4th gear. It also made a sound like someone stepped on a cats tail. It does it when going up hill or passing. Normal shifting from 3d to 4th now is sudden and jerky but without the noise
I drive normally and don't have a heavy foot.
It seems obvious that something changed when I changed the air filter.
Hope someone can provide some ideas

You should post down in the 7.3L forum and see if those guys can help you. I don't know about the 7.3L, but if you put that K&N filter on the 6.0L, it will dust the turbo. I have to assume it will do the same thing to the 7.3L
