ALL LIGHTS WOK EXCEPT THE LEFT BRAKE LAMP.
THE LEFT SIGNAL LAMP WORKS BUT NO BRAKE LIGHT.
IS THIS COMMON?
ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO FIX?
WHERE DO I GET WIRING DIAGRAM OUR LOCAL PARTS STORE DOSE NOT HAVE MANUALS. PLEASE HELP
As you step on the brake pedal, wiggle the signal stalk and see if the brake light flashes on. If it does, your signal switch in the column probably has one of the plastic "arms" which returns it to center broken off. Will require a new switch (under the steering wheel) or some creative repair work to get it fixed.
When mine did that, I just learned to move the signal lever a little to its "sweet spot" until I had the time and money to replace the switch.
It could be something as simple as a bad ground on the left side. I have seen lights go back through the 2nd filament looking for a ground. Strange things can happen with electrical wiring. Take the tailight loose and check and clean every thing before you go too far.

like mil1ion said, replace bulb. Cheapest fix. Second, is to look inside the bulb socket for corrosion on the brake light stem. My Bronco had this problem. Test lights, and bulbs made no difference. I was flustered. I stuck a paperclip in to each contact, and put the test light to it, and ah ha, there was my problem. The little metal strip(stem) inside the bulb holder(socket) was rusted into two pieces. The other one wasn't, which is why my turn signal worked, and my brake light didn't. So I ended up with a couple extra bulbs, no big deal. Wiring is no fun. Good luck.
Diagram of where ? at the tail-light Turn signal switch ?
You want the Brake/TS wire colour code ?
If the right brake light works the problem isn't the brake switch.
If the Left TS light works..the problem isn't the wiring along the frame to the tail-light .
Your problem is between the brake light switch and the wire to the harness where it connects to the harness to the turn signal switch for the TS circuit.

I 2nd this. That was the problem with one of my old trucks.
you replaced the turn signal switch assembly? The one that is under the steering wheel? With the turn cancel mechanism built into it? Did you try the "wiggle turn signal lever, see if it flashes on with pedal applied??" Never saw a reply with results... Does the left FRONT turn signal come on and flash at a regular rate with the rear signal?
thanks guys i got my brake lamp to work
Apparently some thing worked? dont know what i did?
It must ahve been a combo of all the stuff.
thank you for all the help.
