I have had a 55 F-100 Flat /stake bed, since 76 and I have never seen another one.
It looks like a factory option because of the Ford srcipt logo, and the short running boards.
does any one know if Ford did offer a Flat / stake bed option in 55, and if so how many did they produce?
the stake bed was an option that was for farmers . it was dealer
install only not a fact one . it depends on where you live if you,ll see another one the medwest is the best placse to find them . mostly on farms in the trees . if yours bed is in good shape it would be worth 2,000 a lone .
I also have a stake bed. Mine is on a 49 F1. Looks original with Ford script on the back. The bed is in pretty good shape except new boards have been installed with out bed strips. I assume this bed originally had bed strips. Does anyone know if this is correct? If so, any idea what the bed board and strip layout should look like?
Thaks for the info my bed is in fair condition I recently swapped it with a standard. the standard bed was on a trailer so I now have flat bed trailer with a Ford script!
I had no Idea it was worth as much as you said.
