Vin Questions

I have a 1975 F150 Explorer. It's a regular cab 2 wd truck.

The VIN is as follows: F15MRW84765. It was built in the US on 4/75.

The metal tag on the door has the following codes:
WB-133 Color-3 Body-S 4 Trans-G Axle-14J DSO-73
GWR-F150 It also has the numbers 6050.

Is it unusual for the blue decal on the inside of the door jamb to not display any codes? Why use two decals?

How unusual or rare is this truck?

It is completely original and the original engine, trans., and rear end are still in the truck.

Thanks for your help!

There's something funny going on with the color code. You say the color is green and my F150 is orange with orange interior!!!!!!

What's up with that?

Plus the F150 was sold new in my hometown in Montana!! How's this possible?

Sorry that was a 76 code
How about Mexicali Red.

http://tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrar...truck-pg01.jpg

what is the missing character in the body code?

That truck was originally sent to SLC then obviously made t's way to Montana.

It's not unheard of..many times a dealer in one state would buy a truck of the lot of another dealership in another state

I'll go check it again tomorrow and let you know what I find.

It has the black hood stripe that is very wide across the entire width of the hood and narrows all the way to the edge of the box, stopping just before the tailgate. It runs above the identations for the side trim. Is this stripe unusual?

How many trucks were Mexicali Red? I have searched and searched and I've never found another one. I also know of another one just like mine except it was yellow and had white stripes identical to mine.

Can you tell me all about the Explorer package and options?

Thanks!

Great site! That orange '75 is identical to mine except mine has a rear slider, has a black bumper and black stripes.

Mine doesn't have a lot of options on it. It has power disc brakes, power steering, a 390 4V V-8, C-6 auto, rear slider, and lap belts. That's about it. No A/C or doodads.

I'll check the door tag again and examine it real closely to see what else I missed.
