I think when the grandchildren come along. You are older and wiser. No dealing with the stress factor of raising them. It's nothing but pure enjoyment.

Hey, I'm only 41, but I could be a step-grandpa soon too! My stepson is 25, serious with his girl.
I was an uncle at 4 years old, so being a grandfather in my 40's isn't SO bad

You see, the paternal Grandfather on the mother's side name is also Dennis.
I usually hear " My parents" during introductions.

No such thing as step, just pop pop.
I have twelve with a thirteenth due, one is from my son in laws first and she is treated just as though she is a birth child, no difference.
