I had to change my water pump and all hoses, and in doing so I broke 1 bolt. Now after i have removed all necesary accessaries I have to remove the front engine cover so that I can access the broken bolt. My situation is this, how do I remove the bolt holding the harmonic balancer in place. I have tryed using an electric impact gun and it want do the job. I have tryed putting 2 bolts in the balancer sticking out enough that I could put the closed end of a very large wrench but Iam worried about snapping off the bolts in the balancer. Any help would be very good at this point. Ive been 3 days trying to remove that bolt. Thanks Smitty.

I'd think you'd want to be real careful about cranking the motor to loosen the bolt.
Are you having trouble with the motor turning when you try to break the bolt loose or you just cannot get enough torque to the bolt? If the motor is turning and you have a manual trans, put it in 4th gear and put the brakes on. If you have an automatic, I've had luck by jamming the flexplate (through one of the holes on the plate) with a screwdriver or prybar. Air power is the best but I have also used a small hydraulic jack against my breaker bar to break the bolt loose once I stopped the engine from turning.
