Well...I don't really have a good reason why I'm lifting a 4X2. I bought a 4X2 and happen to like the look of a lifted truck...so I'm going with it. Probably not the best idea, I assume.
How do you think it will look/handle/etc? I'm new to this, and kinda nervous that it will look bad or not work out mechanically.
Yeah i agree i have seen some lifted 4x2's doesnt look horrible some look really good actually so yours will be fine some people would never tell the difference

As far as I know, the kit doesn't come with an exposed skid plate...although I may invest in a nice one.
I'm pretty pumped...all the parts are in and I put it in the shop Wednesday. I'll be taking the "before" pictures today or tomorrow, and the "after" pictures the day I get my truck back. I'll post them all on here.
I just hope it has the look/feel that I want.
Thanks for the input. Please feel free to comment on the pictures when I post them. I love suggestions, etc.
I keep hearing/reading stuff about Fabtech's 6" lift leaving the rear end lower than the front end. Please tell me Fabtech has improved this...or will I need a leveling kit?
Rich, you had mentioned a "prerunner" look...did you mean that the back will be lower than the front.
Help me out...I don't wanna dish out 4 grand for the lift, wheels, and tires and it look like garbage...I want it level.
No, thats not what I was referring to. The 'prerunner' look has a front end with a large amount of ground clearance, and looks like is ready to eat up Baja bumps.
Well having no direct knowledge of that exact lift, there is no answer that I can give you.... with any certainty. Maybe you should wander down to the 'suspension' forum here on FTE, and see if they have any ideas how the Fabtech lifts typically work.
