REAR AXLE info needed

what type of rear axle came in the 95 f150?? was there more than one option and was the 9in still available?? was disc brakes an option??

All 95 F-150's had 8.8" axles from the factory. 9" wasn't an option, and neither were disc brakes.

thanks for the info, i was not aware ford gave up the 9in to put the 8.8 under fullsize trucks.

They started using the 8.8" in 1983 and had the 9" phased completely out by 1986. If you're thinking of swapping one in, don't. Your speedo won't work and your automatic transmission won't shift right.

Another reason not to swap: the anti-lock brakes won't work either. There is/are magnetic pickups on the 8.8" ring gear that send signals to the speedometer, anti-lock brakes, and automatic transmission.
