Oil Pump Gasket
I just finished rebuilding a gear-type oil pump for my 1956 F100 272. All the gaskets I've found for Y-block oil pumps partially cover the outlet port and the bypass port. I've checked, and these gaskets match the design of the gerotor oil pumps. When I've looked at NOS or rebuilt gear-type pumps online, they all come with the same gasket as I have - the one that partially occludes the ports. My question is: Are there different gaskets for the gear-type and gerotor Y-block oil pumps? If so, any thoughts on where to find one? Thanks for your help.
